Infrastructure NT strategically plans, aligns, develops and delivers infrastructure to sustainably grow the NT for Territorians.
Infrastructure NT is led by the Infrastructure Commissioner who reports to the Northern Territory Government Minister for Territory Development.
Our role
Established in 2021, Infrastructure NT:
- represents and champions the Territory’s interests at a national level to meet our infrastructure requirements
- forges strong relationships with Australian Government agencies, including Infrastructure Australia and other jurisdictions, to ensure our public infrastructure has national and broader community support
- works closely with Investment Territory to support investors and project proponents to grow our economy and population
- oversees business cases and concept plans for priority government infrastructure projects supported by robust planning and stakeholder and community engagement.
Strategic priorities
We are responsible for developing the Northern Territory Infrastructure Framework to guide infrastructure project delivery in the Territory, which includes an:
- Infrastructure Strategy
- Infrastructure Audit
- Infrastructure Plan and Pipeline.
The Framework links the investment portfolio of current and future infrastructure projects to meet the needs of economic and population growth to ensure infrastructure planning and investment achieves the Northern Territory Government’s goals of a sustainable and diverse $40 billion economy by 2030.
