Centrally positioned on Australia’s northern coastline, the Marine Industry Park and Darwin Ship Lift Facility will become the premium vessel servicing point between Cairns in Queensland and Perth in Western Australia. These facilities are located within Darwin’s deep water harbour and provide new opportunities to effectively service vessels operating across northern Australia and the Indo-Pacific region.

The Marine Industry Park is 16 kilometres by road from Darwin CBD and adjoins the entrance to East Arm Wharf. The first stage of the Marine Industry Park included an all tide barge ramp that is an accredited first point of entry for the Darwin Port. This is supported by nine hectares of secured hardstand with 24-hour access for storage and fabrication activities. The barge ramp and hardstand are available for use on a commercial basis.

Detailed design is being finalised for further stages of the Marine Industry Park incorporating up to 15 serviced industrial lots. These sites will be made available via long term leases for the development of marine maintenance workshops and supporting services. Establishing vessel maintenance workshops on serviced lots within the Marine Industry Park is an essential component to fulfil the economic activity and job creation opportunities to be enabled by the Darwin Ship Lift Facility.

In addition to the 14.5 hectares of serviced industrial land another 3.5 hectares of common user hardstand will be available for short to medium term occupancy adjoining the new 5,500 tonne capacity ship lift facility.
